How painful is getting a tooth pulled?

At Roseville Dental and Implants, your comfort is our priority, and tooth extraction is no exception. Many patients wonder if getting a tooth pulled hurts. If you are having a tooth removed, Dr Yang makes every effort to ensure you feel at ease and experience no pain during the extraction.

What to Expect During a Tooth Extraction Procedure

Dr Yang starts by numbing the area so you don't feel any pain during your procedure. Once you are completely numb, she gently removes the tooth. The process is quick and efficient, and she takes great care to keep you comfortable.

We also offer nitrous oxide sedation for patients who feel anxious about dental appointments, such as tooth extractions. Also called happy gas, nitrous oxide helps take the edge off treatment so you can feel more relaxed.

Supporting You Throughout Your Recovery

Most patients fully recover from a tooth extraction within a few weeks. Plan to rest right after your procedure and allow yourself some time to heal.

Avoid vigorous rinsing, spitting, and drinking through a straw for the first 24 hours, as these can dislodge the blood clot that protects the healing site. Stick to soft foods, and contact us if you notice severe pain, swelling, or bleeding that doesn't settle.

We'll give you clear aftercare instructions to follow for a smooth recovery and to help prevent tooth extraction pain.
